The town of Brock takes its name from John Henry Brock, who purchased land here in 1871 and helped shape one of southwestern Parker County’s earliest communities. By 1892, the town had a blacksmith shop, a cotton gin, a grist mill, a grocery store, a post office, and its own school — a full community on the Texas frontier. Today, Brock is one of the fastest-growing communities in all of Parker County, with FM 1189 developing into one of the county’s more active commercial corridors.
